The idea behind launching the project Clothes4cause was simple yet rigorous: to reduce the impact of fast fashion, help to provide warmth to those in need, and promote sustainability. YFGN used this opportunity to give the unused clothes a renewed purpose to support vulnerable communities. What began as our small effort to help others quickly received more overwhelming support than we expected motivating us to reach even more people and make a greater impact.
The widespread damage caused by the flood left many families hopeless without proper essential clothing making them struggle in such harsh weather. Clothes4Cause stepped in, collecting and distributing over 2,750 pieces of clothing. Among them, 1,250 pieces were distributed to families severely affected by flood. This flood relief clothing distribution provided much-needed warmth and comfort to the victims helping to provide little hope and support to their lives.
But our efforts didn’t just stop right there- those donated clothes traveled more than 500 km to reach the people of Jajarkot, answering their call for support. A total of 1500 clothes were sent to Jarjarkot, providing essential relief and warmth to the earthquake victims. The participants were provided the opportunity for self-selection so that they could choose the garments according to their needs. This ensured that each of them was treated with fairness and dignity, meeting their requirements with care and respect.

Unfortunately, not all the donated clothes were good enough for direct use so YFGN’s team sent those clothes to an upcycling company transforming them into reusable ones. This process allowed each piece to contribute sustainably, continuing to support communities in need with purpose and care. With a total of 723 garments upcycled, every piece played a vital role in reducing waste and creating a lasting positive impact.
Through Clothes4Cause, YFGN has made a lasting impact by providing support, reducing waste, and fostering resilience in communities. Together, we’ve empowered individuals, shared warmth, and prevented 1389 kg of textile waste from polluting our planet. Every effort counts towards creating a sustainable future.
